Console Pack Kit
Play your own texture pack on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
How it works
Consoles can't import packs — but every device that joins a Realm downloads the packs switched on for it. So you switch your pack on for your Realm from a phone, tablet or PC, and your console gets it the moment it joins.
Your texture pack

Choose your texture pack
A Bedrock .mcpack or .zip — Java packs are converted for you
No pack yet? Make one in the editor and export it for Bedrock. Already imported it into Minecraft on your phone or PC? Skip to step 3.
Get it onto your phone or PC
On the phone, tablet or Windows PC where you play Minecraft (signed in as the Realm's owner), download the pack and open it.
- 1Open the Files app and find the pack you downloaded.
- 2Tap it — it opens in Minecraft and says Import Started, then Successfully imported.
On a computer but Minecraft is on your phone? Open this page on the phone and choose the pack there.
Turn it on for your Realm
Still on that phone, tablet or PC:
- 1Open Minecraft and go to Play → Realms.
- 2Select your Realm and choose Settings.
- 3Select the world slot you play and choose Edit World.
- 4Under Add-Ons, choose Resource Packs.
- 5Pick your pack from My Packs, choose Activate and confirm.
- 6Go back (top left) and wait while Minecraft uploads it to the Realm.
Play it on your console
- 1Open Minecraft on your PlayStation, Xbox or Switch.
- 2Go to Play → Realms and join your Realm.
- 3The pack downloads by itself and loads in the world.
Works the same on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The console has to be signed in to a Microsoft account that's a member of the Realm.
Or: put the pack inside a world fileFor uploading a whole world to your Realm with the pack already on.
Choose your pack in step 1 first.

Choose a world
A .mcworld file exported from Minecraft
How do I get the world file?
- 1In Minecraft, tap the pencil next to the world and choose Export World.
- 2Choose Save to Files, then pick that file here.
No Realm? Two other waysYour console takes a pack from anything it joins — not just a Realm.
1 · Someone hosts the world on a phone or PC
When you join another player's world, Minecraft sends you the packs that world has switched on — on a console as much as anywhere else. So a friend (or your own second account) imports the .mcpack above, turns it on for their world, opens it to friends, and you join from the Friends tab. Nothing to install, nothing to pay.
The catch: they have to be in the world while you play, and it cannot be your own account — Minecraft only lets one device be signed in to an account at a time.
2 · A server, including a free one
Any Bedrock server can hand its resource pack to everyone who joins. Free hosts let you upload a world, and the world this kit builds already has your pack inside it — upload that, and the pack comes with it.
The catch: consoles cannot type a server address. Getting on one means a DNS service or a phone app that bridges the console to the server (BedrockConnect is the best known). Those are third-party, not Mojang, and the phone apps put their pack feature behind a subscription.
What no longer works: the old trick of importing a free Marketplace pack and swapping its files. Mojang has removed the free packs it relied on, so every tutorial describing it now stops at step one.
And there is still no way to use a custom pack in your console's own singleplayer world. The pack always comes from something you join.
Questions
Do I need a Realm?
A Realm is the easiest way, and the only one that is Mojang's own. But it is not the only one — the console downloads a pack from anything it joins, so a friend's hosted world or a server works too. The three routes are above, under “No Realm?”.
What if I don't have Minecraft on a phone or PC?
The pack has to be switched on for the Realm from a phone, tablet or Windows PC — the console can't do that part. Any of them works, signed in with the account that owns the Realm.
Does the pack work outside the Realm?
No. It only shows in that Realm's world — everywhere else your console uses its normal textures.
Will my friends see it?
Yes. Everyone who joins the Realm gets the pack, on any device.
Can I use a Java pack?
Yes — it's converted to Bedrock first. Textures carry over; Java-only extras such as custom models don't.
What about custom skins on console?
Not yet. Mojang removed custom skin imports from consoles, and a Realm can't bring them back.
