1. Who we are
CreateTextures ("we", "us") operates createtextures.com, a free browser-based Minecraft texture pack and sound editor, and the CreateTextures Android app, which displays the same website. This policy covers both. CreateTextures is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
2. Information we collect
Account information (optional). You can browse and create packs without an account. If you sign up, we collect your email address, a display name, and optionally a linked Minecraft username/UUID and avatar.
Content you create. When you export or publish a pack, the pack file, its name and icon are uploaded to our storage so it can be downloaded and, where you choose, shown publicly (for example in Recent Packs and the leaderboard). Comments, reactions, friend connections, and collaboration sessions you take part in are also stored.
Usage data. Like most websites we receive basic technical data automatically: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referrer. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.
On-device data. Your in-progress edits (textures, sounds, pack name, language preference, recent colours) are autosaved to your browser's local storage on your device. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you export or publish.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to run the editor and community features (accounts, pack sharing, collaboration, chat), to save and restore your work, to understand overall usage so we can improve the product, to keep the service safe and prevent abuse, and to show advertising that funds the free service.
4. Cookies, advertising and analytics
Advertising. We show ads provided by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads (including personalised ads where permitted) and to measure them. You can control ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings and learn more at Google's advertising policies. Depending on your region, you may be shown non-personalised ads.
Analytics. We use Statcounter, a privacy-conscious page analytics service, to count visits and understand which pages are used. We also use our hosting provider's aggregate analytics.
Authentication cookies. If you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets cookies to keep you signed in. These are essential and not used for tracking.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the site work:
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery
- Supabase — accounts, database and file storage
- Google AdSense and ad partners — advertising (see section 4)
- Statcounter — page analytics
Content you choose to publish (packs, pack names, icons, comments, your display name) is visible to other users by design. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and its users.
6. Data retention and deletion
Account data and published content are kept while your account exists. On-device autosave data can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data (or it is replaced when you start a new pack). To delete your account and associated personal data, contact us (section 10) and we will remove it within 30 days, except where we must keep records to meet legal obligations.
7. Children's privacy
CreateTextures is a general-audience service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) without verifiable parental consent. Children can use the editor without an account, in which case work is saved only on their device. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
All traffic to createtextures.com is encrypted with HTTPS. Accounts and content are stored with reputable providers using industry-standard protections. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so use a unique password for your account.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise any of these rights and we will respond within the timeframe required by law. Our services are hosted in data centres that may be outside your country; where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards.
10. Contact us
The fastest way to reach us is our Discord community. You can also email the developer contact address listed on our Google Play store page. We answer privacy requests as a priority.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update it here and adjust the "Last updated" date above. Meaningful changes will be highlighted on the site. Continued use of CreateTextures after a change means you accept the updated policy.
