Letters from other alphabets — Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese — stay the game's own, so nothing stops working.

Where the fonts come from

Small Caps, Bold, Italic and Bold Caps are made from Mojang's own letters — the small capitals are the ones already hidden in the game's font — and Enchanting and Illager use the game's secret alphabets. The pixel fonts are free fonts under the SIL Open Font License, redrawn pixel for pixel at Minecraft's size, and the license comes inside every pack:

Questions

How do I change the font in Minecraft?

Minecraft draws its text from pictures of letters, and a resource pack can replace them. Pick a font here, download the pack, put it in your resourcepacks folder (or open the .mcpack on Bedrock) and turn it on. No mods needed.

What is the Small Caps font?

Lowercase letters become small capitals, so text looks like CAPITALS in two sizes. The small capitals are Mojang's own: they are already inside Minecraft's font for other uses, so they match the game exactly.

Will it break other languages?

No. The pack only redraws the Latin letters (with their accents), numbers and punctuation. Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, Japanese and every other alphabet stay the game's own, and Force Unicode Font still works.

Which Minecraft versions does it work with?

Java Edition 1.21 to 26.3, where the pack adds its own font file, and 1.8.9, where it replaces the ascii.png letter sheet. Bedrock Edition gets an .mcpack that replaces default8.png and the Latin letter pages.

Can I use the pixel fonts in my own pack?

Yes. They are released under the SIL Open Font License, which lets you use, share and change them; the license file comes inside every pack, and it has to stay with the font if you pass it on.
