1 · Pick a glint
Every colour, flowing over your items as the glint moves.
How bright
2 · Get your pack
Only the glint goes in, so it works on top of your other packs.
How the glint works
Minecraft draws the shine as a second picture slid across the item and added on top of it, so it can only make things brighter — that's why black means no glint. The pack keeps the game's own streak pattern and only changes its colour, so it moves exactly like the real thing. The picture above does the same maths as the game, at the same speed.
On Java 1.21 and newer you can also slow the glint down or make it fainter in Options → Accessibility (Glint Speed and Glint Strength).
