No cheats needed

Finding a pet with /tp or /locate needs cheats — and on Bedrock, turning cheats on switches achievements off for good. It only finds pets in loaded chunks, too. World Finder reads the saved world instead, so it finds everything the game has saved, anywhere, and your world is never changed.

How to find a lost pet or item in Minecraft

Find your world: on PC, Edit → Open World Folder (Java) or Export World (Bedrock); on a phone, Export World.

Drop the folder, .zip or .mcworld onto World Finder.

Tap My pets, Death spot or Bed — or type what you lost, like “elytra”.

Go to the X Y Z coordinates shown. Turn on coordinates in the game's settings to see where you are.

Questions

How do I find my lost dog in Minecraft without cheats?

The usual way is the /tp or /locate command, which needs cheats — and on Bedrock, turning cheats on switches achievements off for good. It also only finds pets in chunks that are loaded. World Finder reads your saved world instead, so it finds your wolves, cats and horses anywhere in the world and shows their coordinates, and your world is never changed.

Why isn't my pet showing up?

It finds what the game has saved. If Minecraft was still running, save and quit to the title screen first so the latest positions are written. A pet that died, or one tamed by another player, won't show as yours — pets of other players in the same world are listed under their names.

Does it work for Bedrock worlds and on my phone?

Yes. Export the world from Minecraft (tap the pencil next to it, then Export World) and pick the .mcworld file here. On a PC you can also pick the world's folder. Consoles can't export worlds, but a Realm can be downloaded on a phone or PC.

Is my world uploaded anywhere?

No. The world is read by your own browser, one file at a time, and never leaves your device. Nothing in the world is changed.

How does it know where my base is?

Java worlds record, for every chunk, how long it spent loaded near a player. The chunks with the most are almost always your base. Bedrock worlds don't record this, so on Bedrock World Finder shows your bed instead.
