Open the Dressing Room from the main menu, choose Classic Skins, and scroll to your pack's name. Tap a skin, then Equip.
No. Consoles can't open a .mcpack file, so the only skin packs they have are the ones from the Marketplace. Skin packs you make work on phones, tablets and Windows.
Java Edition has no skin packs — you wear one skin at a time, set in the Minecraft Launcher or at minecraft.net. The maker's Java download is a .zip with each skin as a PNG, named after the skin, with the slim ones marked.
Up to 80. That's the limit in Minecraft's own skin pack rules; a pack with more is rejected.
Classic (Steve) arms are 4 pixels wide, Slim (Alex) arms are 3. The maker looks at each skin's arms and picks for you; if a skin has a gap or a stripe on its arms, tap the chip to switch.
No. Each download is a newer version of the same pack, so opening the new file replaces the old one in the game.
No. The pack is built in your browser. Looking up a player's name asks Mojang (or GeyserMC, for a gamertag) for that player's skin, and nothing else leaves your device.
