How big an item looks in your hand is set by its model, which a resource pack can change. Pick Swords here, choose a size, download the pack and turn it on in Options → Resource Packs. It only changes what you see, so it works on any server.
No. Reach and hit boxes are decided by the game, not by how the item looks. A giant sword hits exactly like a normal one.
No — the pack changes your first-person view only, and only on your computer. Other players see items at their normal size.
Not yet. This tool makes packs for Java Edition 1.21 to 26.x, where it uses each version's own item models. Bedrock and 1.8.9 hold items in a different way.
Those items are drawn by special code in the game rather than a plain item model, so a size change in a pack can't reach them the same way. Everything with a flat item model — swords, tools, food, ingots, flowers and more — can be resized. Full blocks keep their size.
